Ryan J Swartz has been the Director of Forensics at Bishop McGuinness HS in Oklahoma City since the fall of 2007. During his tenure he has built a program that was recently recognized by the National Speech & Debate Association as one of the top 40 in the nation. Ryan has coached multiple state finalists and individual state champions in various speaking & acting events, including the Oklahoma 5A Humorous Interp State Champion for the last 6 consecutive years. On the national circuit, he has coached students to out rounds of NCFL, NIETOC, and NSDA National Tournaments in HI, DI, DUO, Duet & Prose. Recent accolades include a 2014 NSDA National Finalist in Humorous Interp, 2015 NIETOC National Finalists in Duet Acting, and the 2015 OSSAA Class 5A Team State Championship.
This is Ryan's seventh year as a senior staff member for the Individual Events Session of the Cameron University Forensics Institute. This summer his focus will be helping camp participants discover new performance skills and techniques through a multi-session Interp Workshop. He will also be serving as the Director of the IE camp tournament.
