On behalf of the Department of Communication and the Cameron University Speech and Debate team, let me extend the warmest of welcomes to you.  We are so excited that you will be joining us for the 40th Annual Speech and Debate Camp at Cameron University.  In the last 39 years, thousands of campers have come through our doors, and leave fully prepared for the upcoming forensics/debate season.  Our staff are hard at work to make your Cameron camp experience rewarding, fun, and educational.

For those of you who are returning to camp this year, we are so glad to have you back! We would love to hear about the success you have had this previous academic year.  Please email us at and let us know your success stories! We would love to highlight some of those on the camp website!

The Cameron Speech and Debate camp is open to all middle school and high school students who are interested in: Individual Events, Public Forum Debate, Cross Examination Debate, and Lincoln Douglas debate.  As in years past, we will offer the same excellence in instruction, an ample amount of practice rounds, and provide small staff to camper ratios.  When comparing Speech and Debate camps this summer,  you will be hard pressed to find a camp that offers a more affordable experience.  In addition to keeping with the strong tradition of excellence provided at camp, I do want to highlight some changes and additions for camp this year:

  • New online registration---where you can sign up and pay for camp with a debit/credit card online! (POs are still accepted).
  • A new website where we will distribute all camp related information.
  • A new two week option in CX debate.
  • A new Public Forum division for the first week of camp.

Please browse the will find camp schedules, information packets, links to register and upload forms, menus, campus maps, staff information, etc.  If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We look forward to hosting you at camp this summer.
